Water Cast Open Ring

A one-of-a-kind sterling silver open ring featuring two individually water-cast silver forms.

Molten sterling silver is poured directly into water, where it cools instantly into completely unpredictable organic shapes. I selected two of these tiny silver forms and used them to create the ends of this simple open ring.

No two water casts are ever quite the same, which means this ring can’t be exactly reproduced.

The smooth, understated band keeps the focus on the naturally formed silver ends — a little detail created by heat, water and chance.
