A one-of-a-kind pair of substantial sterling silver stud earrings, created from a small piece of coral found by my mum on the beach at Sellicks Beach, South Australia.

I pressed the coral into casting sand to capture its intricate natural pattern, then poured molten sterling silver directly into the impression. The resulting casting was divided into two complementary organic shapes, creating a deliberately mismatched pair.

The earrings were individually shaped and finished by hand, then oxidised and polished to highlight the tiny coral-like cells across their surfaces. Each stud retains its own irregular outline and texture—a small fragment of the coast captured in silver.

Together, the earrings weigh 7 grams, giving them a satisfyingly substantial feel while remaining comfortable as studs.
