Madeit exists to celebrate original creative work.
We look for products that reflect your own creativity, design decisions and craftsmanship. While inspiration, existing templates and purchased design elements can all play a role in the creative process, they should not be the primary value of the finished product.
Your work should clearly demonstrate your own creative contribution through the way it is designed, made, assembled, finished or transformed. Products that rely primarily on copied artwork, downloaded designs or simple personalisation of an otherwise finished item do not meet Madeit's Handmade Benchmark.
Originality helps customers connect with the maker behind the work, and it's a key part of what makes handmade meaningful on Madeit.
Digital Design & Artwork
Digitally designed and printed products must include substantial original artwork or hand-created elements. Writing and arranging text using pre-existing fonts alone doesn't meet our handmade benchmark. For example, affirmation cards featuring the maker's own watercolour artwork may be suitable, whereas text-based designs using standard fonts are not.
