Sterling Silver Pod Ring

Inspired by the seed pods I discovered while walking along Cape Tribulation Beach, this one-of-a-kind ring celebrates the quiet beauty of nature's tiny details.

The Pod Ring began as a solid block of carving wax. Every curve and every tiny detail was carved by hand before the piece was transformed into solid sterling silver using the traditional lost wax casting process. The final two images show the ring's journey from a solid block of carving wax to the finished hand-carved wax model before it was cast in sterling silver.

The recessed pod has been carefully oxidised to highlight the organic texture, while the surrounding silver has been polished by hand to create a beautiful contrast between smooth and textured surfaces.

With its substantial 9.7 g weight and sculptural form, the Pod Ring is designed as a statement piece that is comfortable enough for everyday wear.
