Inspired by the beautiful natural form of an almond kernel, this one-of-a-kind sterling silver ring brings together three jewellery-making techniques.
I began by taking a mould of a real almond kernel, then created a wax impression of its form. That impression was used to make a sand casting in sterling silver, capturing the kernel’s distinctive ridges and organic texture.
I then fabricated a sterling silver ring band and joined it to the cast kernel, creating a substantial yet wearable statement piece.
The contrast between the richly textured kernel and the smooth, polished band celebrates the beauty of natural forms and the handmade process.
Each detail tells the story of how this little almond kernel became a piece of wearable silver.
