Sometimes the most interesting pieces are the ones that don't go to plan.

This pendant actually began life as a sand cast signet ring. But during casting, the silver didn't flow as expected, and the top of the ring formed separately.

Rather than discard it, I saw the potential for something different.

The result is this one-of-a-kind sterling silver pendant, featuring a beautiful raw Australian blue sapphire nestled into its organically textured surface.

Its irregular shape and natural contours are a reminder that sometimes the unexpected can become something worth keeping.

Handmade in my Silver Linings studio in Sellicks Beach, South Australia.
