Some art comes with a story. This one comes with a field survey.
Box Gum Grassy Woodland is a critically endangered ecological community of south-eastern Australia, and this print is my record of the small wildflowers that grow there. As a field ecologist, I surveyed plants in critically endangered ecosystems like this one. Plant geek, guilty as charged.
Hang it and you've got a conversation piece with a real conservation story behind it. It's a fitting gift for conservationists, ecologists, landholders and farmers, and anyone who cares for remnant bush.

What is a cyanotype?
Cyanotype is a photographic process that's over 180 years old. I paint paper with a light-sensitive solution, lay real plants on top and let the sun do the rest. The plants leave white silhouettes on deep blue.
