Santa hats on Aussie wildlife, and Christmas trees that are secretly ferns.

- Wambiyala the Echidna - Santa: my echidna made from native flowers, with a Santa hat on top
- Platypus - Santa (Ornithorhynchus anatinus): an egg-laying, venomous mammal in a Santa hat. Yep, you heard that right.
- Kondari the Humpback Whale - Santa (Megaptera novaeangliae): for the whales that rest in Hervey Bay
- Merry Christmas Conifer: a conifer for the tree, with silver stars
- Merry Christmas Fern: a tree fern frond for the tree, with a gold star

I hand-painted the gold and silver on my original cyanotypes. The cards are prints of those originals, so you get the gold without glitter all over the carpet.
They're blank inside, so you write the Merry Christmas yourself. Send one to the native gardener, the bird nerd, your kid's teacher, or the rellos overseas who miss an Aussie Christmas.
Wambiyala is a Wiradjuri language word. I was given permission to use it by Gundungarra Elders from Pejar Local Aboriginal Land Council.
Kondari is a Butchulla language name. I credit the Butchulla people, Traditional Owners of K'gari and Hervey Bay.

What is a cyanotype?
Cyanotype is a photographic process that's over 180 years old. I paint paper with a light-sensitive solution, lay real plants on top and let the sun do the rest. The plants leave white silhouettes on deep blue.
