Original Coral Cyanotype Art Made by the Sun

This piece reminds me of all the evolutionary trees of life I have studied as a scientist. A tree of life is a diagram that shows the relatedness of species.

This specimen is actually a piece of seaweed I collected from my local beach in my new home of Hervey Bay Queensland. It's simplicity caught my eye and I thought it quite elegant.

This is an original handmade cyanotype photogram, not a digital reproduction, nor is it reprinted using a digital negative which means that it is currently available in one size only (life size because of the contact printing nature of the process). The emulsion has been painted on the premium cotton paper page by me. Where possible, specimens are reused again and again to cause as little to no harm as possible to the wild plants. Each print is handmade and one-of-a-kind.

Materials: This original artwork is created on premium Hahnmuhle 100% cotton 300 gsm paper.

Care Instructions: Cyanotype is archival and you should expect this print to last for centuries. For best results, frame under UV proof glass however it isn't necessary if you keep out of direct sunlight, if you notice any change in colour, simply put the artwork in a dark place overnight and it will recover to its former glory.

Size: The artwork is square and ready to frame. It measures approximately 250 X 250mm.
