The grey and cream squares (with a hint of purple) are arranged in slightly different checkerboard patterns on the front and back.
Pieced from batik, this unique eye-catching bag is great for lunch with a book in the park, or carrying a warm top, glasses, phone and other useful bits. The bag was sewn, sandwiched with wadding and then quilted on a home sewing machine. You can see the quilting more clearly on the lining. The quilting adds strength, as does the padding, and they may add a little insulation. This bag is all cotton (fabric, wadding, threads).
Machine washing is easy in cold water. Dry in the shade. Iron on a cotton setting, avoiding the handles.
The price you pay, minus packing and shipping, will be donated to WIRES, the Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service.
The bag measures 31 x 31 cm on the outside and the strap is 67 x 4cm.
