Pieced from hand-dyed fabric, this unique eye-catching bag is large enough to fit the contents of a ‘green’ supermarket bag, or A4 folders and necessities for a day out or a day of study. The fabric is bought, (so not dyed by myself), and sewn and quilted on a home sewing machine (with a tiny bit of hand-sewing). The quilting adds strength, as does the padding, and may add a little insulation. Unlike supermarket bags this is all cotton, including the wadding, all fabric and the threads, and can be machine washed (cold is recommended). The handles are padded, and stitched with a decorative leaf pattern.
The price you pay, minus packing and shipping, will be donated to WIRES, the Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service.
The bag measures 30 x 35 x 15 cm and the straps are both 55.5 x 4cm.
Machine washing is easy in cold water and will not add to the plastic plague of our time. Dry in the shade if possible as using a hot dryer will lead to a bit of shrinking on the first wash.
