Description
Daffodils often symbolise hope and rebirth and are synonymous with Spring. The Cancer Council Australia has chosen the daffodil to symbolise the fight against cancer and the hope of a better future.
The yellow and white daffodil blooms early in Spring, and can be seen in its glory (with many others) at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden. The plant has been painted on black cotton, in metallic fabric paint, and heat set to be permanent. The front was then quilted in patterns to complement the flower.
The back is yellow cotton fabric, with silver highlights, and simply quilted. The lining matches the back of the bag. The strap is black, with yellow stitching.
All of the bag is made from cotton, including the wadding. Washing in cold water is recommended, and then drying out of the sun.The bag is small - 25 x 20 cm - and the strap is 94 x 3 cm - a shoulder strap for an adult or a cross-body strap for a child.
