Pieced from fabric celebrating the forest floor, especially mushrooms and ferns, this unique eye-catching bag is large enough to fit the contents of a ‘green’ supermarket bag, or A4 folders and necessities for a day out or a day of study.
The four sides and base were pieced together, then made into ‘sandwiches’ with wadding and lining and quilted for strength and padding. The edges were covered with cotton lace, except the base edges which are from plainer fabric. The bag outer and straps are synthetic, but the lining, wadding and sewing threads are cotton so the bag is fully washable in cold water (dry in the shade).
The quilting adds strength, as does the padding, and may add a little insulation. The bag measures 30 x 30 x 19 cm and the straps are both 42 x 3 cm.
The price you pay, minus packing and shipping, will be donated to WIRES, the Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service.
