These matching hoop earrings feature two hand-folded origami tiles on each earring, created from Washi Chiyogami. The pattern is ‘Autumn Leaves’ - warm amber, reds and maroons, earthy browns, greens and white.
Each larger origami tile is paired with a smaller companion. Suspended in between are delicate strands of black and gold micro chain creating gentle movement.
To create each paper piece, I measure and cut from a larger sheet of paper, and fold into the final interlocking model, then apply a light coat of lacquer.
Tiny black bugle beads provide contrast to rich amber patterning and the gold-plated hoops.
A distinctive pair of statement earrings inspired by the colours of autumn—perfect for lovers of Japanese paper, wearable art, and bohemian style.
I have used 30mm plain round thin earring hoops which are gold plated over brass, gold-coloured findings, faceted ultra-thin gold plated over brass chain, stainless steel black chain and glass bugle beads. The overall drop length (top to bottom) is 8cm.
Lightly lacquered, but avoid getting wet
