These earrings feature hand-folded origami kite-shaped diamond pieces created from Japanese Yuzen Washi Chiyogami Paper.
The decorative paper has a black base accented with brilliant gold to create a wave pattern, overlain with red, pink and white florals. To create each paper piece, I measure and cut from a larger sheet of paper, and fold into the final interlocking model.
The origami piece hangs from a thin 20mm gold-plated hoop alongside a single small red glass faceted rondelle bead. I have used gold coloured findings and black glass micro bugle beads.
The origami piece has been lightly lacquered, but avoid getting wet. Very lightweight. Overall drop length is 5cm
