Hedy Convertible Clutch - Jade Green and Poppy Print
This product is:
This product is:
Traditional veg tan kangaroo leather Hedy Convertible Clutch, with 100% cotton lining. This purse can be used as a clutch, over the shoulder or cross body bag. The print used in the lining was designed by me, and based off watching poppies grow in my flower garden one year. Every morning I would go out to see which flowers had appeared and take a lot of photos. The leather is quite stiff still, and has that fantastic leather squeak. It will soften over time, and can be cared for with traditional leather products.
This design was named after Hedy Lamarr, actress, producer and inventor. While a Hollywood film star, at the start of World War II, Hedy co-invented a version of frequency-hopping spread spectrum communication for torpedo guidance. Like it’s namesake, this bag is glamours and multi-faceted, and is more than meets the eye.
The shoulder strap at it’s shortest is 78cm and fully adjusted is 140cm, measuring from each end of the swivel snaps.
Measurements are approximate as the leather is soft
20cm tall
28cm at widest
4cm wide gusset
How does it convert - metal press snaps inside will hold the tabs in place, simply unclip both sides of the strap, and snap the tabs inside to make a streamlined clutch bag.
There is a zipper gusset with a purple zipper, and inside there is a small zipper pocket, lined with a paint splatter print fabric.
The leather is made in Australia. Bags are designed and made in my MEW Designs Studio (also known as a laboratory) in Brisbane Australia
As the leather is a natural product there may be slight variations in the texture and finish.
