Meridian – Tasmanian Oak Wall Clock
Solid. Linear. Considered.
The Meridian clock is defined by a single brass inlay running from 12 to 6 — a quiet structural line through warm Tasmanian heartwood. No numerals. No clutter. Just timber, brass, and time.
How It's Made
Each Meridian clock begins as a solid disc of Tasmanian oak, cut and shaped by hand in my workshop in Australia. The timber is sanded through progressive grits until smooth and the grain is fully revealed. A channel is then cut precisely through the face and a solid brass strip is fitted flush from 12 to 6, serving as both hour marker and design element. Multiple hand-applied coats of protective varnish are then built up across the face, enhancing the depth and warmth of the grain with each layer. Gold tone hands and an American-made Takane movement complete the clock before a final quality check.
No two Meridian clocks are identical. The grain, tone and character of the timber varies with every piece — sometimes dramatically.
