There's a particular quality to late afternoon light — the way it turns timber golden and makes a room feel like it's exhaling. The Dusk clock captures that feeling. Finished in a warm amber maple satin varnish, the natural Tasmanian oak grain deepens into rich honey tones that shift with the light throughout the day.
No numerals. No markers. Just warm timber grain, gold hands, and time moving quietly.
How It's Made
Each Dusk clock begins as a solid disc of Tasmanian oak, cut and shaped by hand in my workshop in Australia. The timber is sanded through progressive grits until the surface is smooth and the grain is fully revealed. Multiple hand-applied coats of maple satin varnish are then built up across the face — a warm amber finish that enhances the natural honey tones of the timber with each layer rather than simply protecting it. Gold tone hands and an American-made Takane movement complete the clock before a final quality check.
No two Dusk clocks are identical. The grain, tone and warmth of the timber varies with every piece — sometimes dramatically.

Care
Wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep away from direct moisture and prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the timber and varnish finish.
