Eclipse – Dark Tasmanian Oak Wall Clock

The Eclipse clock takes the bold split design of the Grain & Gears collection and pushes it into darker territory. One half is natural Tasmanian oak finished in a rich black varnish that deepens the grain without hiding it. The other disappears into matte black. Gold hands bridge the divide.
How It's Made
Each Eclipse clock begins as a solid disc of Tasmanian oak, cut and shaped by hand in my workshop in Australia. The timber is sanded through progressive grits until the surface is smooth and the grain is fully revealed. The natural half is then finished in multiple hand-applied coats of black varnish, building depth and richness with each layer. The opposite half is painted in matte black by hand. Gold tone hands and an American-made Takane movement complete the clock before a final quality check.
No two Eclipse clocks are identical. The grain, tone and figure of the timber varies with every piece.

Care
Wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep away from direct moisture and prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the timber finish.
