The Foundation clock is Tasmanian oak at its most honest — warm natural grain, bold black raised numerals and slim black hands. No embellishment, no complexity. Just a beautifully made timber clock that feels at home in any space and suits any interior.
How It's Made
Each Foundation clock begins as a solid disc of Tasmanian oak, cut and shaped by hand in my workshop in Australia. The timber is sanded through progressive grits until the surface is smooth and the grain is fully revealed. A clear water-based protective coat is then hand-applied to enhance the natural warmth of the timber while protecting it for everyday living. Bold raised black numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, along with black tick markers at the remaining hours, are individually fitted by hand. Black metal hands and an American-made Takane movement complete the clock before a final quality check.
No two Foundation clocks are identical. The grain, tone and character of the timber varies with every piece.

Available in two sizes — 30cm or 40cm diameter. Solid 17mm thick profile throughout.

Care
Wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep away from direct moisture and prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the timber finish.
