Welcome to Spindle & Spool where ‘Natural, Slow & Cosy’ is both the dream and the reality. My name is Sue and I am passionate about using natural fibres to create beautiful one-of-a-kind, ‘Perfectly Imperfect’ accessories for you and your home, which are made with love and intention in my little studio in the northern coastal suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. I hope you enjoy browsing and fall in love with something special!
As Anna Funicello once said “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” xx
These super cute little brooches are created on a mini-loom using left over yarn scraps from my other projects and includes some of my own handspun yarn. Each one is unique and a little piece of wearable art that makes the perfect gift for the eco-conscious craft lovers in your life.
Please note that due to the handcrafted characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight inconsistencies in thickness and ply, but this is an endearing part of the charm of handspun yarn and ensures that this piece is truly one of a kind.
These brooches are an eco-conscious option as the fibres are naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years (remove metal pin before composting).
The brooches either have a pin stitched on the back or are hanging from a kilt pin - this can be seen in the photos of each design ('Ocean' is a kilt pin brooch).
Each brooch is created with a variety of natural fibres which may include the following: Wool, Alpaca, Silk, Mohair, Cashmere, Cotton & Linen.
Each brooch may vary slightly in size but they are approximately 2.5 - 3 cm in width and 6 - 7 cm in length.
Listing is for one brooch.
