As a retired teacher I know that teachers receive an abundance of mugs each year but how about we elevate these mugs with a little thoughtful, handmade gift instead.
A coaster and bookmark combo, both created with my very own handspun yarn using only natural materials along with a teabag and small chocolate.

Each mat and bookmark is made with love - the natural fibre yarn is first handspun on either one of my spindles or spinning wheels, and then woven on a little wooden pin loom (mat) or crocheted to create a very special piece to treasure.
A beautiful simple bookmark that I've created with a crocheted handspun flower and a lovely rustic linen & cotton plait.
These bookmarks are a sweet keepsake for the special book lover in your life and make a thoughtful gift either on their own, or combined with a book or book voucher.
They are created using remnant yarn from my other projects, and are part of my small contribution towards reducing textile waste. The plait simply lays inside the pages of your book while the flower hangs over the front to keep your place secure whilst looking super sweet.
Both the mats and bookmarks are an eco-conscious option, as the fibres are naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years.
Please note that due to the beautiful unique characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight differences between bookmarks and mats created with the same yarn.
The mats are approximately 9cm x 9cm. The thickness of the mats vary and is dependent on the yarn used: Finer yarn results in a thinner mat, whereas chunkier yarn results in a thicker mat.
The total length of the bookmarks are approximately 30cm and the flowers are approximately 5cm in diameter.
To ensure your bookmark & mat lasts and looks their best, please give them a gentle hand wash and dry flat in the shade as required.
