A beautiful simple bookmark that I've created with a crocheted handspun flower and a lovely rustic linen & cotton plait.
These bookmarks are a sweet keepsake for the special book lover in your life and make a thoughtful gift either on their own, or combined with a book or book voucher.
They are created using remnant yarn from my other projects, and are part of my small contribution towards reducing textile waste. The plait simply lays inside the pages of your book while the flower hangs over the front to keep your place secure whilst looking super sweet.
The colours in 'Heather' remind me of the Scottish highland, with soft green and heather like purples which combine to create a very soft muted tone with a lovely texture - 25% Whitefaced Woodland Wool, 50% Corriedale, 20% South American Wool & 5% Viscose Tweed.
'Blueberry' is a stunning combination of blues and purples - 70% Extra Fine Merino Wool & 30% Mulberry Silk.
'Umber' is a beautiful combination of natural shades of brown - 50% British Shetland & 50% Merino Wool.
'Autumn' is a lovely bronze orange - Extra Fine Merino Wool & Silk.
'Enchanted' is a very sweet pale purple with other pastel colours throughout - Extra Fine Merino Wool & Silk.
'Enchanted Cloud' is one strand of 'Enchanted' with one strand of natural cream Mohair - Extra Fine Merino Wool, Mohair & Silk.
'Obsidian' is a pearly black with lighter silvery grey flecks throughout - 70% Extra Fine Merino Wool & 30% Mulberry Silk.
'Pewter Plum' is a beautiful rich purple with silver and grey tones - 70% Extra Fine Merino Wool & 30% Mulberry Silk.
'Olive' is a muted rustic green - 100% Wool.
'Teal' is a deep turquoise blue - 100% Extra Fine Merino Wool.
'Russet' is an autumn red/orange and 'Brick' is similar but with added brown tones - 50% British Shetland & 50% Merino Wool.
'Latte' is a pale brown/beige that is quite similar to natural hessian - 100% Corriedale Wool.
'Natural Cotton' is exactly that, a natural creamy colour and created with 100% handspun cotton.
'Moss' is a variegated blend of muted greens - 100% Fine Merino.
'Mulled Wine' is a gorgeous deep burgundy red - 100% Extra Fine Merino Wool.
'Meadow' is a slightly muted yet fresh green - 100% Extra Fine Merino Wool.
'Periwinkle' is a lavender purple - 100% Fine Merino.
'Poppy' is a lovely bright red - 100% Corriedale Wool.
'Tangerine' is a bright and fresh orange - 100% Fine Merino.
'Sunshine' is a bright and cheery yellow - 100% Fine Merino.
'Fudge' is a variegated mix of creams and browns - Fine Merino, Baby Camel & Corriedale Wool.
Please note that due to the beautiful unique characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight differences between the size and appearance of the flowers.
These bookmarks are an eco-conscious option, as the fibres are naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years.
The total length is approximately 30cm and the flowers are approximately 5cm in diameter.
To ensure your bookmark lasts and looks its best, please give it a gentle hand wash and dry flat in the shade as required.
