This beautiful bracelet, woven into a “Chain Maille” cuff, is made from 0.8 mm diameter sterling silver wire purchased through a precious metal merchant.
To make this piece, the wire is cut into 100s of tiny links with each link opened, woven, and then closed meticulously, creating a fabric-like structure that was originally used as protective armour.
A tiny disc is then stamped "sterling" and attached before being tumbled for a few hours to smooth all the surfaces and ensure a brilliant shine.
This weave produces a very pretty and flexible chain, with a luxurious feel. The bracelet weighs 36 grams, is 200mm long and 23mm wide, and has a barrel clasp.
To keep its brilliant sheen, it is recommended to occasionally dip the bracelet into a silver cleaning solution.
This bracelet can be posted to you anywhere in Australia from the Mornington Peninsula where it has been lovingly created.
