Large one off brooch and pendant necklace crafted from antique and vintage Rajasthani and Japanese textiles, metallic thread and jewel embellishments. The Rajasthani antique textiles are fragments from an antique handstitched wedding gown and a Japanese antique alter cloth. Textiles from India have been meticulously embellished with metallic thread and jewels. The back is beautifully finished with matching textiles and 'R' logo in metallic thread and a quality brooch pin. There is both a pin and loop so that it can be used as a brooch or pendant necklace. There is an optional matching adjustable cord which can also be used on its own by simply inserting the narrow end through the loop and use a slip knot to create an preferred length. Presented in a matching black velvet lined gift box.

Technique....

All materials and embellishments have been meticulously adhered to watercolour paper using acid free adhesives. The result is a flat textural wearable art piece.

The metallic threads have been very carefully glued using dental instruments. This is a technique I developed in the early days of experimentation to add beauty, interest and sparkle to the work...and who doesn't love a little bit of sparkle in their life:)

All works are individually named and signed including a small 'R' logo of metallic / black thread on back of brooch.
