This unique double sided collage art pendant necklace offers two stylish designs in beige, red, blue and black. Each side has been crafted from upcycled vintage and antique Japanese textiles, vintage Japanese ledger paper and metallic and black thread embellishments. The striking double layered Japanese washi paper frame has been lacquered for protection and strength and is connected to the cord with a stylish silver non tarnishing curved tube. The matching decorative cord is adjustable in length using a slip knot - cord ends have been embellished with lacquered Japanese washi paper that match the frame and silver plated and upcycled beads.

Pendant Size: W 3.5cm x L8cm - cord length is adjustable using a slip knot.

This piece is not intended to be immersed in water, a little rain is not an issue.

Materials & Technique:

Many of the textiles I use are rescued from landfill or re-purposed fashion textiles, for e.g. discontinued interior textile samples; vintage Japanese kimono, obi & temple alter cloths; Rajasthani wedding gown fragments; hand stitched textiles from Turkey & Uzbekistan. Of course, I also love contemporary fashion textiles & lots of embellishments too... metallic threads, wires, beads, buttons, treasures from nature... basically all sorts of decorative objects!

Where appropriate, all materials & embellishments are adhered to a base textile or art paper using strong holding acid free adhesive or jewellery glue.
