Brilliant blue and gold patterned paper earrings, circular shape. Handmade from lacquered German paper, upcycled gold beads at top and suspended at the centre - gold plated sterling silver ear wires. Lightweight and comfortable to wear. The gold beads catch the light beautifully, as does the gold detail in the paper.

They are strong and don't bend or crush as each piece of decorative paper is wrapped/glued around 100 - 130gsm art paper using acid free adhesive then protected with diamond glaze.

MATERIALS & TECHNIQUES

Many of the textiles I use are rescued from landfill or re-purposed fashion textiles, for e.g. discontinued interior textile samples; vintage Japanese kimono, obi & temple alter cloths; Rajasthani wedding gown fragments; hand stitched textiles from Turkey & Uzbekistan. Of course, I also love contemporary fashion textiles & lots of embellishments too... metallic threads, wires, beads, buttons, treasures from nature... basically all sorts of decorative objects!

Where appropriate, all materials & embellishments are adhered to a base textile or art paper using strong holding acid free adhesive or jewellery glue.

CARE

These are not intended to be immersed in water however a little rain is not an issue as they have a diamond glaze to protect them.
