This board is handmade in my workshop in the Southern Highlands, NSW, it combines Purpleheart with Black Walnut, American Oak and Fijian Mahogany creating a nice contrast between the moody purple tones tones of the purpleheart and the Mahogany with the darker walnut and blonde of the Oak
.
The board is made using end-grain construction method, which provides a durable cutting surface that’s well suited to everyday kitchen use.
I’ve sanded the board to a smooth finish and treated it with food-grade mineral oil and local southern tablelands beeswax to bring out the colours of the timber and help protect the wood.

Care and maintenance
To keep your board in good condition:
- Hand wash with warm water and mild soap.
- Don't soak it or put it in the dishwasher.
- Dry thoroughly with a towel and allow it to air dry upright.
- Apply food-safe mineral oil or board wax when the timber starts to look dry.
- Keep it away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
A care guide and a sample pot of conditioner is included with every board.
