Welcome to Spindle & Spool where ‘Natural, Slow & Cosy’ is both the dream and the reality. My name is Sue and I am passionate about using natural fibres to create beautiful one-of-a-kind, ‘Perfectly Imperfect’ accessories for you and your home, which are made with love and intention in my little studio in the northern coastal suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. I hope you enjoy browsing and fall in love with something special! As Anna Funicello once said “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” xx
This stunning and totally unique unisex scarf will add a touch of whimsy and wow to any outfit.
Handspun using Merino Wool, Recycled Sari Silk and other natural fibres (Cotton, Linen, Silk, Corriedale Wool, Alpaca & Mohair), this scarf is not only stunning but created with slow, sustainable fashion in mind. It is crafted with a combination of remnant yarns spun on both my spindles and spinning wheels, then handwoven on my small wooden loom to create a gorgeous textural piece of fabric with a hand twisted fringe. This is a piece to be treasured and with the variety of colours included it will co-ordinate well with almost every outfit!
This scarf is an eco-conscious option, as the fibres are all left over (remnants from other projects), naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years, rather than adding to the enormous problem of textile waste produced by the mass made industry.
Please note that due to the handcrafted characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight inconsistencies in thickness and ply, but this is an endearing part of the charm of handspun yarn and ensures that this piece is truly one of a kind.
The scarf is approximately 18cm wide and 200cm in length (175cm excluding fringe).
To ensure your scarf lasts and looks its best, please give it a gentle handwash and dry flat in the shade as required.
