This one-of-a-kind upcycled children's jacket features hand-stitched patchwork and sashiko-style embroidery, handmade in the Blue Mountains, Australia.
This jacket began life as a quality Gap kids' jacket, still sturdy and full of potential. Instead of letting it end up in landfill, it was transformed in my Blue Mountains studio into something completely new — a bold, earthy, joy-filled piece of wearable art for children.
Patchwork panels in warm autumn tones — rich browns, burnt oranges, golden yellows — were hand-stitched onto the jacket, then layered with sashiko-inspired embroidery, stitched slowly and thoughtfully across every panel. The texture, depth, and movement of the thread come together to create a jacket that feels alive with personality.
This is not fast fashion. This is slow, intentional, one-of-a-kind children's clothing — the kind you simply won't find in shops or mass-produced online.
