Each flower is individually created from layers of paper, with hand-painted watercolour petals arranged around a natural dark wooden bead centre. The variation in colour and brushwork gives the sunflowers their depth and means no two flowers will ever be exactly alike.

Finished with simple gold-coloured shepherd hooks, the flowers are the focus. Despite their statement size, the paper construction makes them beautifully lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Artist's note

I create my jewellery from paper because I love transforming such a simple, familiar material into something unexpected. These sunflowers retain the irregularities, brush marks and variations of the painting process rather than trying to make every petal perfectly uniform.
