Australian Red Gum Burl Bowl (6)

Hand carved in my workshop from a piece of red gum harvested from a fallen (dead) tree in the Forbes area of NSW. This bowl will add a touch of the Australian outback to your home.

Measuring 46 cm x 28 cm x 14.5 cm and weighing 5.1 kg. The bowl was carved in line with the natural curve of the wood.

The outside of the bowl has been smoothed and polished but retains most of its natural features. The inside of the bowl highlights the fiery red colour of red gum. The bowl was finished using Danish oil, giving it a matt finish that is soft and smooth to touch; people cannot resist touching the wood.
