Ready to frame. Original painting, Sun, Surf and Swimming, Gouache on Paper. This painting is of Bellambi Beach, New South Wales. I started painting on-site (or en-plein air) and finished it at home.

My son loves sports and being active. Knowing that I love painting beaches, he invited me on a trip down to Wollongong as he was going for a surf. I took my portable gouache kit and sat on the grassed bank, while he surfed in the waves. The sea mist was thick enough to taste the salt in the air. The distant cliff tops peaked out of the mist into view. While focused on my painting, the community moved around me, everyone of us in our own little worlds. I could hear laughter from children in the pool and on the playground behind me. I watch parents playing with their children in the pool. Surfers gathered in the car park watching the water and chatting to each other about their experience on the waves. The community was alive and friendly; it had such a beautiful atmosphere. The sun was quite warm, but I didn't want to move. I was enjoying soaking everything in and wanted to capture the moment as best as I could with my paintbrush.

Original, one of a kind piece.  Painting comes unframed. Is mounted in a conservation mat board surround (colour: White). Both the front matt and backing are acid free. Backing is foam core board.

Painting is protected from the elements inside a cellophane sleeve. It is packaged in a Cardboard tough envelope for extra protection.

Can be professional framed. Should you wish to frame it yourself the matt surround has been made to fit a 28 x 35 cm (11"x14") frame. I recommend sealing the gap between the backing board and back of the frame with tape (eg framing tape or kraft paper tape) to avoid any future dust or insect damage.
