This bronze brooch is a replica of a medieval piece of jewellery that was worn, and lost, in the old Rotterdam market hall, some time in the Fifteenth Century. Our hand-crafted reproduction will bring the same timeless elegance to an outfit today. Ring brooches can be attached to the outside of an outfit, but also used to secure shawls, scarves and collars.
The piece is a lost wax casting in jewellery-grade ancient bronze (copper and tin only), from a hand-carved master mould. We create our masters based on detailed study of archaeological items, then cast and hand-finish each piece in Sydney.
The overall dimensions are 28 x 28 x 3mm.
Bronze jewellery can be left to develop a natural patina with use, or polished regularly to retain the shine of a new piece.
