This delightful little oil lamp is handcrafted here in my shed on Bundjalung Country, NSW in a warm, contemporary “soft geometric” form, using a variety of timber in my stash, including (currently) Fiddleback, White Beech, Mango and Walnut.
These lovely lamps come with a glass oil reservoir, glass wick reservoir and 100% cotton wick. The oil reservoir holds approximately 15ml of liquid.
**Please note your lamp is sold WITHOUT OIL as I am unable to ship flammable liquids**
However, if you wish to collect instead of having it posted, I will supply a 15ml leak-proof glass vial containing lamp oil for you :) Let me know in the postage options. (Oil supplied in the vials as a pick up option is 98% hydrocarbon liquid, 1% sandalwood oil, 1% coconut oil).
Each lamp is 100% handcrafted and unique. I start by cutting some blocks of timber approximately 6cm square, and then using my disc sander, shape the pleasing geometric design, and then hand sand to 400 grit, before burnishing and finishing with my spoon butter.
These lamps sit together wonderfully as a little group, and create the perfect gift for those “hard to buy for” people. Ideal for cosy nights, this oil lamp creates soft ambience, an intimate dining setting or gorgeous warm accent lighting to beautify your space.
The glass oil reservoir is 38mm in diameter and approximately 50mm high. The handcrafted wooden vessel surrounding reservoir is approximately 60mm on both sides and stands approximately 40mm high.
Paraffin based lamp oil recommended (clean-burning and essential-oil friendly), however you could also purchase a citronella-based oil to have a pretty feature that is also practical as a mozzie repeller!
Allow to cool before refilling. Keep the wick short to stop excess smoking. Trim wick as needed. Wipe wood clean and refresh with my spoon butter every few months, or as needed.
