This pretty "rainbow slice" vase is made using reclaimed timber logs from my local area. Current stock comes from a Camphor Laurel log that was felled next door about 7 years ago and then lived under my house drying for about the next 3 years! I was then inspired by a garlic bread at my cousin's that was cut on a fancy angle, and voila! The rainbow slice vase was born :)
These can vary in colour, grain and size based on what is available at the time. Test tubes are 15cm long and a large 2.5cm diameter, the perfect size for a fresh bloom from your garden or any lovely dried foliage you pick! The glass test tube is larger than my other test tube vessels, and will also hold some robust cuttings in order to propogate. The timber holder for this test tube is approximately 7cm high, 11cm long and roughly 4.5cm deep.
Nerdy stuff: the test tubes are premium scientific use glass with borosilicate. This means they are very robust!
Care for your test tube vase (timber part): Wipe with warm damp cloth when needed to remove dust. Never place in the dishwasher. Dishwasher = sadness :( From time to time you can re-sand with a light grade sandpaper (for example 320 grit), and re-oil using a food safe and non-oxidising oil (for example food grade mineral oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, or my spoon butter!). However, you CAN place the test tube in the dishwasher to retain sparkly goodness!
