Sunflower!

To me a sunflower represents happiness and sunshine and I have tried to capture some of that in this still life mosaic.

The flower is made using hand cut stained glass in various shades of yellow and orange, along with some green and brown for the leaves and stem. The flower is then sitting in a clear vase with a twine feature on the collar. The simple background of white lets the flower be the main feature of the piece.

It is all glued to a hand cut lightweight foam core board. Once finished it was off to the framers to be professionally mounted in an oak float frame. The hanging hardware is also attached so will arrive ready to hang.

The frame measures 33cm x 41cm
