Description
This gorgeous necklace holds a 30x22mm cameo of a skeleton lady figurehead. The cording is 100% waxed polyester in the colours Navy Blue and Olive, with 1mm thickness. The stones are: Garnet beads in 8mm and 6mm thickness. All necklaces have adjustable clasps not shown in photos.
This skull cameo necklace was inspired by the character of Lucille in the 2015 film “Crimson Peak”, directed by the brilliant mind of Guillermo Del Toro. Not only is this film incredibly visually stunning in its attention to detail; the costuming alone just blows the viewers away. I absolutely loved the red dress that Lucille wears when we are first introduced to her, but the outfit that always grabbed my attention the most was her navy blue everyday-wear dress that she wears at home at Allerdale Hall. Fun fact: according to the costume designers, the olive-leaf trimming on the dress is actually meant to be gold.
However because the family fortune has dwindled by this point in Thomas and Lucille’s life, she wasn’t able to have it repaired which leads to the threading becoming tarnished to what appears to be an olive-green colour, as we see in the film. The Navy Blue cording represents the velvet dress, and the Olive cording represents the leaf trimming that is all over the bodice. The Garnet represents the engagement ring and family heirloom that is worn both by Edith and Lucille.
I am extraordinarily happy with the entire design, especially with how this colour-scheme turned out; and my wish is that this piece also quickly becomes a favourite in your jewellery collection.
Garnet:
It is a stone of prosperity and abundance, encouraging gratitude and service to others. Because it's such an energizing stone, garnet is often used for manifestation purposes and worn as a talisman for good luck. In addition to bringing vitality, high energy, and protection, garnet also helps build self-confidence and clarify one's life purpose. Associated with the Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras, awakening creative energies and lending power to one's will.
