This handwoven cotton scarf has been inspired by a new year of experimentation, of trying something new. I've played with a brooks bouquet technique to create this pattern and decided to do this all the way through this scarf. You use a hand-manipulated, finger-controlled technique with each bouquet carefully created by me. I love the pattern it has created and the scalloped edge it has formed, all woven on my rigid heddle loom.
The cotton has come from the Bendigo Woollen Mills in Victoria, and I love the shade of lilac. This cotton is lovely and soft, natural with a durable feel that drapes well. The scarf has a delicate, lacy and airy texture and is a tactile, lightweight accessory.
So, if you're looking for a scarf with extra visual interest, something unique to go with a casual or smart dress, maybe this one-of-a-kind scarf is for you. Or maybe a gift for someone special.
