The front of this crossbody bag has been created using patches and strips of jeans that have been used for other projects, in variations of pinks and reds, charcoal and black. I have free-hand machine appliqued a stylised flower as a feature on the lower corner. I have to admit, trying the catch the true colours has not been easy. It really is very vibrant, I think the outside pics show the colours best.
The back of the bag was cut from the behind of a pair of black jeans and I have added a couple of extra pockets as counterpoint. Each pocket is fully usable.
It is lined with red and white gingham cut from a vintage tablecloth found in my local oppie. Inside you will find a zipped pocket on the back wall and a small slip pocket on the front wall.
The long strap, that has been made from the waistband of a pair of jeans, has a slide that makes it adjustable so that you can sit it in the most comfortable position for you. It is soft and comfortable, about 38mm wide.
This bag is a fabulous size for everyday use. It is the size and shape I carry myself, I can fit my phone, sunnies, shopping bags, makeup pouch, coin purse, and even a book to take to waiting rooms.
The bag hardware is silver coloured and the top zip is black.
Size: 30cm across x 24m high. Approximately 8cm across the base front to back and flattening to close at the top zip.
This bag is the Iris Crossbody, named after the Greek goddess of rainbows, and suggested by one of my daughter’s favourite songs.
