Gorgeous barrel-shaped handbag with vintage styling. Striking and a little bit different.
The main body of this bag has been cut from a cute little Pumpkin Patch pinafore. The colour is a soft grey brown with coral stripes and a hint of silver. The front contrast panel is matching corded cotton fabric cut from a cushion cover. And amazingly, I was able to find matching grey brown buttons in my stash to feature on the front.
It is lined with pretty pale pink fabric dotted with clusters of flowers that began life as a blouse and it has an internal double slip pocket.
It has fused interfacing inside of it which makes it semi-structured - it stands without collapsing but is still relatively soft and is very light to carry. The flap closes with a magnetic snap. This is such a great size for an everyday bag, and is very easy to use.
Size: 22cm across top and bottom, widening to 30cm across the middle. 26cm high, and approximately 10cm deep front to back at the bottom. The strap is long and adjustable, you can make it whatever length you like so that you can wear it on one shoulder or across your body.
This bag was made using The Bawdsey Bag pattern, designed by Emma Brennan for Charlie’s Aunt patterns.
