These flowers are hand cut from copper sheet. I’ve then hammered them to give an organic shape. Once I’ve achieved the texture and shape I’m after I apply black powdered enamel to the back of each flower and fire until fused to the copper base. This process is done twice so the back of each earring has two layers of black enamel.
The front of the flowers are then cleaned to remove any fire scale, applying white enamel powder and firing in my kiln at 800 degrees. This particular white enamel powder has the ability to turn a beautiful shade of teal green when over fired. I love this effect.
Each flower measures 2.3cm x2.3cm
The total drop of the earrings from the top of the ear hook to the bottom of the flower is 3.5cm long
The ear hooks are hand made by me from made Argentium silver
