An unusual and one of a kind, these earrings are created using a technique known as fold forming. Before enamelling, the copper squares are heated and folded four times, a bit like origami !!
When copper is heated it becomes soft so I’m able to fold and then unfold it.
Once unfolded the copper pieces are hammered flat but the folds are left raised.
They have a white base and the pattern is applied using enamel paints. All hand painted. The colours are then fired to fuse them to the white base.
Once cooled I buff the exposed copper until shiny.
These earrings are black on the back
Each earring measures 3cm x 3 cm
The total drop of the earring from the top of the ear hook to the bottom of the earring is 4.2cm
*The ear hooks are made from Argentium silver
*Argentium silver is hypoallergenic and low tarnish
*Argentium is certified 100% recycled.
