Here we have some amazing looking tea towels that are all individually tie dyed using a stitched shibori technique. This is a more controlled form of tie dyeing where circles and lines are drawn and meticulously stitched before dyeing.
Tea towels are not just for drying dishes. You hang them up somewhere in the kitchen, on a hook, the oven handle or a door handle and sometimes they line a bread basket or wrap a casserole. So why not make sure that they are really pretty and have colours that complement your kitchen decor.
As for the practicality of these towels, they are all sewn by me from a high quality 100% cotton drill fabric. This fabric is super absorbent and has a beautiful drape. I use non toxic fibre reactive dyes. They can be machine washed at up to 30°, over and over again without losing their colour. The only thing that fades them is bleaching (don't do it!) and prolonged exposure to bright sunlight so best dry them in the shade.
These tea towels will give you visual and practical pleasure for many many years, they also make great gifts for both men and women, anybody who potters around in a kitchen really. You could also wrap them around a wine bottle or a box of chocolates.
Talking of wrapping, these towels come gift wrapped and could be sent straight to the receiver if it is a gift (within Australia)
