Soft, colourful and impossible to miss, this hand-embroidered Rosy Maple Moth captures the charm of one of nature's most beautiful moths. Carefully stitched using traditional stumpwork embroidery techniques, the raised wings, fluffy body and delicate wire antennae give it a wonderfully lifelike appearance.
Every stitch has been worked by hand using a single strand of embroidery thread, creating smooth colour transitions and fine detail throughout. Whether worn on a jacket, scarf, hat or bag, or displayed as a miniature piece of textile art, this little moth is sure to attract attention.
This piece was stitched entirely by me over many hours, with each element individually embroidered, shaped and assembled by hand. The original design is by Megan Zaniewski, whose beautiful pattern inspired this finished piece.
Handmade in Australia with care and patience, this one-of-a-kind brooch celebrates both the beauty of nature and the timeless art of hand embroidery.
