This is a highly detailed hand-embroidered thread painting, created with a great deal of patience and careful attention to detail.

I used 42 different colours of thread throughout the piece, with most of the embroidery worked using a single strand of thread. The tiny stitches are carefully placed to build up the shading, depth and fine details, with a variety of embroidery stitches used throughout.

There is a tremendous amount of handwork in this piece, with each section carefully stitched and finished. I love seeing all those individual stitches come together to create the finished artwork — and the more closely you look, the more detail you discover.
