Meet the Naomi Bag, a beautifully textured, hand-crocheted bag made slowly and carefully by me here on the Far South Coast of NSW.
This bag features the striking Celtic Weave stitch, a wonderfully dimensional crochet technique created using alternating front and back post stitches. I made this Naomi in my favourite 2mm hollow cotton cord, which gives the weave beautiful definition while creating a firm, structured bag that still feels soft and tactile.
The body is worked entirely by hand using a 3.5mm crochet hook, beginning at one round bamboo handle and working through the Celtic Weave body to the second handle. The bag is then carefully assembled and finished by hand.
Inside, the bag is fully lined in a rich chocolate-toned fabric, helping it hold its shape and protecting your belongings. Natural bamboo ring handles and a small Rubelle gold bar complete the bag.

The Naomi is a lovely statement bag for lunches, dinners, weekends away or whenever you want something a little different from an everyday handbag. The structured handles and lining help it retain its shape, while the soft neutral colouring makes it easy to wear across seasons.
Care
As with all handmade pieces, please treat your Naomi Bag gently. Spot clean where possible. If the crochet requires cleaning, gently hand wash using mild detergent and lukewarm water, taking care around the handles, lining and hardware. Reshape and allow to dry naturally. Store flat or resting upright rather than hanging from the handles for long periods.
