Myrtle is an original handmade mosaic votive from my Women of Gatsby series, inspired by Art Deco design, strong silhouettes and the glamour of the era.
She has been designed and created completely by hand by me in my Victorian studio. Each piece of glass is individually cut and placed, combining different colours, textures and finishes to build the design.
Myrtle is designed to be enjoyed both lit and unlit, but she really comes to life with light behind her. The glass changes beautifully as it catches the light, bringing out details and colours that aren’t always visible during the day.
Each of my mosaics takes many hours to create and is completely unique. The small variations that come with hand-cut glass are part of what makes each piece one of a kind.
