Geisha – Japanese-Inspired Mosaic Votive
A striking, one-of-a-kind mosaic votive inspired by the elegance and graphic beauty of traditional Japanese imagery.
The Geisha figure is handcrafted from individually cut pieces of glass, with rich colour, texture and intricate decorative details. When illuminated from within, the glass comes alive, creating a warm glow and revealing the beautiful variations in texture, colour and tone throughout the design.
Handmade process
Each Creo Mosaic piece is designed and handcrafted by me in my Melbourne studio.
Approximately 70 hours of handwork went into creating Geisha, from individually cutting and placing each piece of glass to carefully building the colour gradients and fine details. This slow, detailed process makes the finished artwork completely unique.
Designed as both a sculptural artwork and an illuminated decorative piece, Geisha can be enjoyed unlit during the day, then illuminated from within to transform the glass at night.
