The Malachite Dreams Collection features five one-of-a-kind pairs of handmade polymer clay earrings in swirling shades of green, teal, turquoise, black and white. With a mix of subtle studs and statement drops, each pair showcases a different section of the pattern created within the clay.
Handmade Process
Each pair was created using the mokume gane technique. I begin by layering different colours of polymer clay before manipulating the stacked layers with various tools to create holes and impressions through the clay. The layers are then compressed back together and thin slices are carefully shaved from the surface, revealing the patterns hidden within.
These slices are used to create the final clay veneer before each earring shape is individually cut, baked, finished and assembled by hand.
Once the veneer has been used, it's gone — I am unable to recreate the same pattern. This means every pair is a genuine one-off, and the earrings pictured for your selected variant are the exact pair you will receive.
Materials & Features
Handmade from polymer clay with carefully selected jewellery findings. The drop styles feature gold-toned findings that complement the rich greens and blues throughout the collection.
Polymer clay is lightweight, making these earrings comfortable to wear while still allowing the larger designs to make a statement.
Size
The small studs measure approximately 1cm in diameter, while the large circle studs are approximately 2cm in diameter. The gold stud drops measure around 2.5cm, and the large teardrop studs have an approximate 4cm drop.
Care
To keep your earrings looking their best, avoid bending or dropping them and keep them away from perfumes, hairsprays, chemicals and prolonged exposure to water. Store in a clean, dry place and gently wipe with a soft damp cloth when required.
